Track background activity
Little Snitch also lets you set timing for the rule, which lets you minimize access to apps or services you may not fully trust to have unfettered access. While Forever is the default, holding down Shift toggles the menu choice to Once, and pressing Control toggles it to Until Quit. You can also select intervals from 15 minutes to 2 hours and Until Logout and Until Restart. In practice, I rarely use these options, as I don’t want to grant access at all to something that I don’t trust for more than 15 minutes or during a session. However, there may be software you don’t want to communicate in the foreground or background when it’s not in active use.
It does exactly what I was looking for! Thank you again for a fantastic product!

Currently, running EXE on other platforms may have a bigger impact on non-Windows systems such as MacOS. Normally, a mono framework installed in the system is required to compile or load executables and libraries. In this case, however, the bundling of the files with the said framework becomes a workaround to bypass the systems given EXE is not a recognized binary executable by MacOS’ security features. As for the native library differences between Windows and MacOS, mono framework supports DLL mapping to support Windows-only dependencies to their MacOS counterparts.
This would be a great potential full-time Touch Bar app. If the network graphs and stuff could be there, that would be nice.

By default, Little Snitch uses Silent Mode—Allow Connections, which behaves just like Apple's built-in firewall does, which is to say that it assumes any application on your Mac that is properly signed is allowed to send and receive data at will. It also tracks every connection, while allowing all network traffic to freely enter and exit your Mac, so you can look at those connections and decide whether or not you want to make that connection in the future. This mode is the best choice for most users.
Find the hidden helpers and background processes apps use to make connections:
If an application or process attempts to establish a network connection, Little Snitch prevents the connection. A dialog is presented which allows one to deny or permit the connection on a one-time or permanent basis. The dialog allows one to restrict the parameters of the connection, restricting it to a specific port, protocol or domain. Little Snitch's integral network monitor allows one to see ongoing traffic in real time with domain names and traffic direction displayed.
The only preset I want is "maximum privacy while user initiated outbound still works". I'd be satisfied even with cookbook step-by-step instructions for such a preset.
Which direction? Does it have [plans for] learning mode or even process-based rules?
OS X 10.4 Tiger
For something that would "disable everything by default" I would simply like to get a GlassWire-like +1 notification on the icon, and then I should be able to see a list of "last blocked" so I can troubleshoot myself later if something went wrong.
